Meet the Author, Bobbi Román
Bobbi is the Director of Youth Ministries at a Catholic Church in Liberty Missouri. She has lived in Liberty for almost 20 years and raised her family in their circa 1884 home. She has three mostly grown children Raquel, Miguel, and Mateo. She also has three Italian Greyhounds and three backyard chickens. Bobbi is an avid genealogy/ family history researcher, a foodie, a crafter/artist, and huge Notre Dame fan.
Becoming a Food Historian was somewhat by accident, however; it has been an exciting adventure combining her love of all things food and all things history. In her free time, she enjoys binge watching shows on Netflix, and spending time with friends.
Bobbi is currently working on her book, Ladies of Liberty: The Women & the Recipes that Shaped a Town, along with her long-time friend and co-contributor, Cheryl McCann. A portion of the proceeds from the book will go directly to the Clay County Archives, where she volunteers, to help continue the preservation of our county's history and hopefully to help create a special section devoted to women and daily life in history.

Meet Contributing Author, Cheryl McCann
Cheryl is a Midwestern girl at heart living in Kansas, IA, and Missouri all her life, but never found a place that felt like home until she and her husband Terry moved to Liberty in 1992 to start their family. She is the active and proud mother of two children and has a long list of hobbies and interests that she tries to keep busy with. When not working on her projects and volunteering, she is the owner of McCann’s Bookkeeping and Tax Service which she runs successfully from a little office in her back yard while raising her children since 2003. History, Ancestry and DAR became important to her about 5 years ago and since then she has started visiting the Clay County Archives to work on projects for the Atkins Johnson Farm and now helps Bobbi with the Ladies of Liberty Cookbook.
